EPISODE 18

Bobby Dover | oil rig worker commutes with a helicopter ride to platform

What’s life like living on a oil rig?

On today’s The Travel Wins podcast is Bobby Dover. Bobby is an oil rig driller working in the Gulf of Mexico. Bobby has almost 20 years experience being an oil rig driller and he gives us a little insight to life on a semi-submersible oil rig 150 miles offshore. He has a 500 mile drive to Louisiana then takes an hour long helicopter flight to the rig. He works three weeks on and then three weeks off.

“A hurricane in 2009 we rode out on thew rig was the worst weather

With that kind of schedule, driving and then flying, Bobby’s business traveling is one I haven’t heard of before.
I would like to thank Bobby for his time and insights to his unique business travel.
